When 'being consistent' is burning you out

Hello Reader,

I want to talk about something most working moms in business feel but rarely say out loud:

'I’m so tired… and I feel like I’m falling behind.'

Last week, between my new corporate job, client work, and family life, I barely had any time to work on my business.

No posting, hardly any LinkedIn engagement, zero progress on my new program.

And the first thing I did?

Not rest. Not reset. Instead, I judged myself.

'This is why your business isn’t growing.'
'Other people are signing clients. You’re not.'
'You’re just not consistent enough.'

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth I had to remind myself of and I want you to remember too:

Every small step is progress.
One comment. One post. One journal entry. One podcast episode. It counts.

Consistency is not frequency.
It doesn’t mean posting every day at 9 AM. It means showing up regularly for your goals in a way that fits your life.

You don’t need more time. You need a rhythm that works for your season of life.
For me, that looks like:

  • 4:30 AM mornings → journaling, content, invitations
  • Lunch hour → client calls + replying to DMs + LinkedIn engagement
  • Evenings → family, rest, Netflix without guilt

If it were easy, what would it look like?
This question helped me build a business without burning out or quitting my job.

This week's new podcast episode is now live:

The Truth About Consistency No One Tells Working Moms

If this is you right now:

  • You want to share your ideas.
  • You want to build something of your own alongside your career.
  • But you’re tired. You’re scared of being seen. And you don’t know where to start.

That’s exactly why I created Power Hour.

In 60 minutes, we’ll:

  • Clarify your message and what you want to be known for
  • Figure out how to talk about it in a way that feels natural, not scary or salesy
  • Create a posting rhythm that fits your real life (job, kids, energy)
  • Design a safe visibility plan if you’re worried your boss or HR might see

You’re not behind. You’re building in a different season. And that’s still progress.

Have a wonderful week!

Reader, 2025 is over. Revenue targets. Client milestones. Growth numbers. Missed them all. Yes, that's me. For a while, I avoided looking at the data because I didn't want to face the disappointment. But then, I realized that the gap between where I am and where I wanted to be isn't failure. It's feedback. In my latest podcast episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what 2025 actually looked like: 5 Unglamorous Lessons from Building a Business While Working Full-Time: 1. It takes WAY longer...

Reader, It's December 31st, and I just reviewed my 2025. Honestly? I didn't hit most of my goals: Revenue target? Nope. Client goals? Fell short. Growth I wanted? Not there yet. And for a moment, I felt disappointed. Like I'd failed somehow. But then, while facilitating my Create 2026 workshop this week, I had a realization: If I were already the sort of person who gets those results, I'd already have them. So the question isn't 'Why did I fail?' The question is: "Who do I need to become?"...

Reader, 2 days ago, our bathroom door lock stopped working. You know that moment when you turn the thumbturn and... nothing? It just spins uselessly. The door won't lock. My first instinct was to call the locksmith. But something I read recently stopped me. If you're on Justin Welsh's Saturday Solopreneur newsletter, you might have seen his recent story about replacing a special lightbulb in his water filtration system. At first glance, it's just a home maintenance story. But the real lesson...
